Photo choices

For the task, I have to choose an appropriate medium close up photo of a student for the front cover of my magazine. Before taking my photo I had to consider the background, the light, the angle and it's link to the main cells on my magazine.


The photo above is not appropriate as an image for the front cover because the students body is facing the side which is away from the audience. Also the student doesn't fill the image the focus is more on the background. The back ground is not suitable because there is a sign behind the students head.



The photograph above is also an inappropriate image for the front cover because it isn't a mid shot of the student. The audience is looking up at the student, therefore the photo was taken pointing upwards. Also, the background is unsuitable.





The photo above is the one I've chosen for my front cover. The student is smiling and has direct eye contact with the audience. It is a mid shot angle and the background is plain and simple.

Introduction to the preliminary task...

This is my blog for the preliminary task. For the task we have to produce a front page design for the Sussex Downs College magazine using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop. The front cover will include an original photograph of a student in medium close-up. Also, it must be appropriately laid-out text and a masthead.
